The academic accolades continue for K-State women’s basketball student-athlete Shaelyn Martin, as she was named the 2018 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year in an announcement by the league office on Thursday. This is according to a release from K-State Athletics. Martin, a product of Salina, Kansas, is the third player in program history to earn Big 12 Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors. Middle blocker Kayley Hollywood has signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) with Kansas State volleyball during the spring signing period, head coach Suzie Fritz announced Wednesday. This is according to a release from K-State Athletics. Hollywood, a 6-foot-5 middle blocker from Houston, Texas, comes to K-State as a three-year letterwinner at Fort Bend Austin High School. Kansas State head coach Bruce Weber announced the signing of junior college All-American forward Austin Trice (Chicago, Ill./Wabash Valley College) to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday. This is according to a release from K-State Athletics. A 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward, Trice joins the Wildcats after a one-year stint at Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel, Ill., where he helped the Warriors post a 21-10 overall record as a sophomore in 2017-18. Creighton scored eight runs in the game’s first three innings Wednesday night and held on for an 8-3 win over K-State at TD Ameritrade Park. That’s according to a release from K-State Athletics. Donte DiVincenzo torched Michigan for 31 points as the Wildcats thumped the Wolverines, 79-62 at San Antonio.
