According to a release from the Kansas City Chiefs and the Chiefs Radio Network, the 2017 season will mark the final season for Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback and broadcaster Len Dawson on the Chiefs Radio Network. Dawson enters his 33rd season with the Chiefs Radio Network in 2017. This year he will contribute pre-produced segments and offer live pregame analysis leading up to kickoff. Rookie Jakob Junis would like to stay a little longer next time. Junis pitched eight sharp innings and the Kansas City Royals beat the Seattle Mariners 9-1 to split their doubleheader Sunday. Nelson Cruz homered twice and drove in four runs as the Mariners held off the Royals 8-7 in the first game. Whit Merrifield homered in both games for the Royals. (AP) The two newest members of the Baltimore Orioles did exactly what they were brought in to do: help the team win. Baltimore fans can only hope Jeremy Hellickson and Tim Beckham do that consistently enough to carry the Orioles into the postseason. According to the Kansas City Star, Jeremy Guthrie, a right-handed pitcher who resurrected his career in Kansas City and started Game 7 of the 2014 World Series, officially announced his retirement from baseball on Monday.
