The latest turn in the Nae’Qwan Tomlin story is that the forward has officially entered the transfer portal, days after his indefinite suspension was ended by a forced dismissal from K-State’s basketball team. Tomlin had been sidelined through the early part of the year because of an incident in Aggieville than ended with him charged with misdemeanor disturbing the peace and entering into a diversion agreement with Riley County prosecutors. Almost 24 hours after the removal of Nae’Qwan Tomlin from the men’s basketball team became official, head coach Jerome Tang issued his first comment on the matter, using a video to make a plea for all moving forward. The video was released just hours after Tang and assistant Jareem Dowling spoke with a group of students preparing to protest outside school president Dr. Richard Linton’s house for a second straight day, calling for Tomlin’s reinstatement. The appearance and comments resulted in the protesters leaving. Tomlin had been serving a season-long suspension until Wednesday night after being involved in a fight…

We now have the “clarification” of the Big 12’s tie-breaker rules to determine which teams head to the conference football championship game in two weeks after a new sentence was added to the info and was noted in an email to select media late yesterday afternoon. That new sentence reads “If all the tied teams are not common opponents, the tied team that defeated each of the other tied teams earns the Championship berth.” The previous structure left out an opportunity for a round-robin to make the decision. The move eliminates the edge K-State held going into the final two…
