WICHITA, Kan. (AP) A man who escaped from a work release program in Sedgwick County nearly three weeks ago has turned himself in.
Sedgwick County authorities say in a news release that Marquez A. Kelly turned himself in early Wednesday at the county detention facility in Wichita.
Kelly had walked away from a work release facility on Aug. 4 while helping to serve the noon meal.
He was booked back into jail on his original conviction of domestic battery and an added escape warrant. Because of the escape, Kelly will no longer be eligible to serve as a trustee.
