    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. –

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 1900 block of Platt St. in Manhattan on December 13, 2019, at approximately 4:35 PM. Officers listed a 21-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect damaged his 98 Ford Minibus. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,200.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 500 block of Bluemont Ave. in Manhattan on December 13, 2019, at approximately 6:40 PM. Officers listed a 64-year-old male as the victim when he reported unknown suspect damaged his window on his front door. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00.

    Officers filed a report for sexual battery, criminal restraint and criminal deprivation in Manhattan on December 15, 2019, at approximately 2:45 PM. Officers listed a 19-year-old female as the victim and an 18-year-old male known to her as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated intimidation of a victim, criminal threat, and harass via a telecommunication device in Manhattan on December 13, 2019, at approximately 11:20 AM. Officers listed a 14-year-old female as the victim when she reported a known 14-year-old male made threatening comments through text. Treytan Sellers, 14, of Ogden, was arrested in connection on offenses of aggravated intimidation of a witness/victim, criminal threat, and harass by telecommunication device.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the 9800 block of Calvary Rd. in Leonardville on December 15, 2019, at approximately 12:20 PM. When officers arrived on scene they found a gray 2008 Suzuki XL7 driven by Kenneth Sullivan Jr., 60, of Riley had crashed. Sullivan Jr. and a passenger in the vehicle were transported to Via Christi for treatment of their injuries.
