    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated assault and criminal discharge of a firearm into an occupied dwelling in Manhattan on February 2, 2020, at approximately 2:20 PM. Officers listed a 20-year-old female as the victim and a 29-year-old male as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported (domestic), no additional information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for burglary in the 6300 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. in Manhattan on February 1, 2020, at approximately 4:40 PM. Officers listed a 61-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect took his 1963 Fender Bandmaster Amplifier. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,000.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated burglary and criminal threat in the 1400 block of Leavenworth St. in Manhattan on February 1, 2020, at approximately 9:40 PM. Officers listed a 21-year-old male, two 20-year-old males, and a 21-year-old female as the victims when it was reported two unknown suspects entered the victim’s residence and took electronics. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $750.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 1400 block of University Drive in Manhattan on February 1, 2020, at approximately 11:40 AM. Officers listed a 20-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect damaged his vehicle. The estimated total loss is not known but is expected to be under $1,000.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Wreath Avenue and Kimball Avenue in Manhattan on February 2, 2020, at approximately 9:30 PM. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a Mercury Sable driven by Alenezi Ghassab, of Manhattan, had crashed with a Jeep Renegade driven by Jennifer Martinez, 21, of Fort Riley. Both drivers were transported to Via Christi for treatment of their injuries.
