KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) A former Wyandotte County deputy will be required to register as a sex offender after being placed on three years of probation for having sex with a female inmate.
The Kansas City Star reports 25-year-old Robert Saladrigas also will have to complete a sexual offender treatment program as a condition of his probation.
Saladrigas pleaded guilty in June to one felony count of unlawful sexual relations. He was sentenced Friday in Wyandotte County District Court.
His attorney called the crime, which happened in early May, a “horrible lapse of judgment” for which Saladrigas was remorseful.
Saladrigas could spend 32 months in jail if he violates conditions of his probation.
