Daniel Sams has some competition to become K-State’s starting quarterback in 2013. Iowa Western Community College quarterback Jake Waters chose K-State over Penn State today on the IWCC campus.
Waters is considered by some to be the top junior college quarterback in the country and had offers from North Carolina State, Houston, Akron and Florida Atlantic as well as K-State and Penn State. He led Iowa Western to an undefeated season and an NJCAA national championship by knocking off Butler Community College 27-7 earlier this month. He completed 73% of his passes this season for 3,501 yards with 39 touchdowns and just three interceptions. Waters was also named the NJCAA player of the year on Thursday.
Iowa Western DE Devon Nash committed to K-State as well to become the third NJCAA national champion to choose K-State along with Waters and DB Travis Green.
