According to reports in the Topeka Capital Journal, incoming freshman center Neville Fincher (6-10, 245) didn’t academically qualify and will have to go to a junior college.
Fincher was part of a five-man freshman class for 2013, and was one of only two forwards in the class along with Wesley Iwundu (6-6, 190). He chose K-State over scholarship offers from Marshall and Seton Hall.
This leaves K-State with one open scholarship for the 2013-14 basketball season. The 2013 recruiting class already includes Marcus Foster (6-2, 185 G), Nigel Johnson (6-1, 170 G), Jevon Thomas (5-11, 160 G) and Iwundu from the high school ranks. Maine transfer Justin Edwards (6-3, 185 G) and Georgetown transfer Brandon Bolden (6-10, 200 F) are on their way to K-State as well.
