EUREKA, Kan. (AP) The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has joined the search for a 35-year-old man suspected of killing two people and wounding a third in the southeastern part of the state.
KFDI-FM reports the Greenwood County sheriff’s office has identified those killed in Wednesday night’s shootings as a 54-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman. A 26-year-old woman who was also shot was in stable condition Thursday at a Wichita hospital.
The shootings took place at a home in Eureka, about 60 miles east of Wichita.
Authorities say the suspect, Kevin R. Walsh, left in a Ford Explorer belonging to one of the victims. The vehicle was found abandoned Thursday in eastern Greenwood County.
Welsh is from the Woodson County town of Toronto, where officers searched a home Thursday without finding him.
