K-State coach Bruce Weber officially added his first two members of the recruiting class of 2014. Both Northwest Florida State College big man Stephen Hurt and Edwardsville, IL combo guard Tre Harris inked their national letter of intent on Wednesday when the early signing period opened.
Hurt is 6 feet 10 inches tall and 280 pounds, and averaged 11.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game last season at Lipscomb before transferring due to head coach Scott Sanderson stepping down.
Harris, who is 6 foot 5 inches tall and 180 pounds, wasn’t on anybody else’s radar after he went to Fishburne Military School in Virginia this season. He led Edwardsville High to the Illinois 4A state semifinals as a senior, and averaged 17 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game.
K-State has three graduating seniors, Shane Southwell, Will Spradling and Omari Lawrence, and for now has one scholarship remaining for next season.
