Officers with the Riley County Police Department would like to thank the community for assistance in apprehending a subject involved in an injury rollover accident that tied up traffic at Tuttle Creek Blvd. and Casement Road Wednesday afternoon. At approximately 2:10 AM on May 28, 2015 police made contact with and apprehended Jason Calhoun, 37, of Manhattan while in the 500 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. (Motel 6).
Calhoun was arrested for the offenses of aggravated battery, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, duty of driver to give certain information after an accident, duties associated with an accident involving personal injury, possession of marijuana, driving with license cancelled, suspended, or revoked, and no Kansas drug tax stamp. He was given a bond of $30,000.00. He was confined at the time of this release.
The female subject mentioned previously as being detained for further investigation was ultimately released. She, Kimberly Brazzle, 27, of Manhattan, was listed as a passenger of Calhoun’s 1997 Ford Explorer which rolled as a result of impact with other vehicles. This accident report also listed two other drivers; Rebecca Lindsey, 34, of Manhattan (2001 Chevy Impala) and Kelly Montgomery, 56, of Topeka, Kansas (2014 Chevy Equinox).

Riley County Police have apparently apprehended the suspect in an injury accident reported at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Casement Road. Jason Calhoun, 37, of Manhattan was taken into custody at 2:09 a.m. Thursday at 510 Tuttle Creek Boulevard.
Charges include aggravated battery, failure to stop at an injury accident, driving while suspended, and several drug related counts. Calhoun’s bond was set at $30,000.
Calhoun’s arrest was listed on the early morning RCPD arrest report and further details are not yet available.

On May 27, 2015 at approximately 1:35 PM, the Riley County Police Department and emergency crews responded to a vehicle collision with injury near the intersection of Tuttle Creek Blvd. and Casement Road. Officers arriving on scene observed two subjects (one male and one female) fleeing the scene of the accident. Officers apprehended the female subject within minutes.
Currently officers are seeking information on the whereabouts of the male subject, Jason Calhoun, 37, of Manhattan. Calhoun was last seen fleeing south from the accident scene and was wearing a grey shirt and tan shorts. He stands approximately 5’9’’ and weighs 180 pounds.

2:10 p.m.: RCPD is working an injury rollover accident at the intersection of Tuttle Creek Blvd and Casement. They are asking that traffic avoid the area. The intersection will be closed for a significant amount of time, they estimated up to 2 hours. More information will be added as it becomes available.
2:16 p.m.: Officers are currently looking for one occupant of one of the vehicles involved in accident that fled the scene on foot. The suspect is a white male in a t-shirt with little or no hair. Stolen property may have been involved.
2:20 p.m.: Officers believe suspect is outside of perimeter.
3:05 p.m.Police currently looking for a white male 5’9 180lbs Grey Shirt Tan Shorts 37YO. Male fled scene of accident at TCB and Casement.
