After an historic victory 24-19 at Oklahoma, K-State has leapt up eight spots in the Associated Press college football poll to #7 in the country. Coach Bill Snyder’s Wildcats became the first ranked team in the tenure of Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops to beat the Sooners in Norman. K-State (4-0) is now the highest ranked Big 12 team in the media poll after beginning the season at #22. With just a 10-point win at home over Maryland, West Virginia actually dropped a spot to #9. Texas held steady at #12 on an open week, while TCU jumped up two spots to #15 following a 27-7 win over Virginia in Fort Worth. Oklahoma dropped ten spots to #16, and Baylor makes their AP poll debut at #25 following a narrow 47-42 road win at Louisiana-Monroe.
