The longest tenured men’s golf coach in the Big 12 conference, K-State’s Tim Norris announced his retirement at the end of the 2013-14 season during Sunday night’s Colbert-Fogler benefit. Norris took over a Wildcat program in 1997 that hadn’t finished in the top half of its conference in 28 years, and led it to four NCAA regionals during his tenure. He oversaw the opening of Colbert Hills Golf Course, along with a new clubhouse and training facility.
Norris coached Robert Streb and Aaron Watkins, who both earned their PGA Tour card for this season.
K-State returns eight players, including four seniors from last season’s squad which finished fifth at the Big 12 tournament.
K-State AD John Currie says a national search for Norris’ replacement will begin in the spring.
