By KMAN Staff on August 13, 2012 Local News, Manhattan, Riley County

Thursday August 30th the Riley County Extension Office will host their annual “Back to Gardening” night at Pottorf Hall in Cico Park.

The event begins at 6:00pm starting with two sessions, one of those will be with K-State Horticulturist Ward Upham addressing Growing Fruits in Kansas and the other will feature Greg Eyestone, Riley County Extension Horticulture Agent, discussing the overseeding of lawns.

Eyestone says the next hour will include new topic sessions.

“At 7:00pm, we will change gears a little bit with Dr. Cary Rivard talking about extending the vegetable season so vegetables can be grown into the winter,” Eyestone says. “Also, I will talk about what happens after the overseeding process.”

The Extension office will provide snacks and those who attend will have a chance to win door prizes. The event will conclude at 8:00pm.
