STOCKTON, Kan. (AP) Two fellow north-central Kansas nursing home residents have turned 100 on the same day.
The Hays Daily News reported that Neva Marshall and Grace Turnbull met in the dining room of Solomon Valley Manor in Stockton in March of 2008. They soon learned they shared a birthday, and they marked the occasion Sunday with parties.
Before World War I even began, Marshall was born in Rooks County, and Turnbull, in Phillips County. They have lived to see nearly half of the 44 U.S. presidents in office. Marshall was a teacher.
All along the way, they have kept a positive attitude about life.
Turnbull says she didn’t realize she was getting old until she turned 97.
