With several pharmacy burglaries and attempted break-ins reported in Riley County a few months ago, now Pottawatomie County is reporting such a case.

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and criminal damage to property in Westmoreland at the Hoffman Pharmacy. Pottawatomie County Dispatch received a 911 call just before midnight Monday night. The caller reported glass being broken at the Pharmacy.

Sheriff Deputies responded and saw broken glass around the front door. The Deputies were unable to locate a suspect inside the pharmacy or immediate area.

The suspect is believed to have fled the scene just after making entry. A witness reported seeing a young male subject wearing a dark hooded sweat shirt and dark jeans in the area. The loss of this crime is estimated to be approximately 500 dollars.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pottawatomie County Sheriff Office at 457-3353.

Riley County police investigated at least three burglaries and attempted break-ins at pharmacies and clinics in Manhattan during the month of September.
