    Local Debt-Free Success Story

    Jim and Francine Bostick of Manhattan, have won their battle against credit card debt. With advice from Housing and Credit Counseling Inc. (HCCI), the Bosticks were able to slash over 118,000 dollars of debt in 5 years.

    The Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging and the Riley County Extension Agency are hosting two free public events titled “Paying Debt- Building Savings: we did it and you can too!”. Both programs will feature a speech from Francine Bostick, and a presentation by representatives of the Manhattan HCCI.

    The program will be presented Wednesday, January 30th at 10:00 AM to Noon at the North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging located at 401 Houston Street.  For information call 776-9294. The second program will be presented Thursday, January 31 at 6:00 – 7:30 PM at the Riley County Fair Grounds, Avery Avenue, Pottorf Hall.  For information call Riley County K-State Research and Extension at 539-6666 x 319.     The Bosticks are now debt-free, and received an award as National Debt Management Clients of the Year.
