The MHS girls surged past Junction City in the second half for a 36-24 win to complete a season sweep of the Blue Jays. MHS trailed 9-8 after one quarter, but the Indians held Junction City scoreless in the second quarter and took a 13-9 lead into the locker room at halftime. Manhattan outscored the Blue Jays 21-7 combined in the second and third quarters to push the lead into double digits. The Indians got 12 points from Caroline Ballard and 11 points from Darby Price.
The Manhattan boys won their fourth straight to complete the sweep with a 48-46 win in the nightcap. The Indians found themselves trailing 18-11 midway through the second quarter before responding with a 14-0 run to grab the lead for good. Junction City trailed by as many as eight points in the second half but never did go away. The Blue Jays cut the lead to just two points late in the fourth quarter. MHS kept the lead by shooting a perfect 19-19 from the free throw line in the second half. Jacob Holloway led all scorers with 15 points for Manhattan and Chris Hudgins chipped in 13 points as well.
