    Updated Thursday afternoon:

Details have been released regarding a two county chase KMAN first told you about early Thursday.

Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat tells KMAN the chase began Wednesday afternoon at about four when a white pickup with a freezer in the back was stopped by a Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Deputy on the Oregon Trail Rd, about 3 miles West of St.Marys.  During the stop the Deputy learned that at least one of the two occupants of the vehicle had an arrest warrant out of Missouri.

While the Deputy was obtaining this information from Pottawatomie County Dispatch, the vehicle fled. The vehicle, a white Nissan 4 door pickup with a freezer in the back fled to Highway 24, then proceeded East on 24 towards St.Mary’s. The chase continued into Shawnee County, and ended near Silver Lake about 30 minutes later.

Arrested were the driver, 28 year old Ashley Gillispie, of Higbee Missouri for outstanding warrants out of Missouri, Fleeing to elude, Possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. The passenger in the vehicle, 30 year old Jason Lee Gillispie, was arrested for outstanding warrants from Missouri, Possession of illegal drugs and obstruction. No bond has been set at this time and the two remain at the Pottawatomie County Jail.

Agencies involved were the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, St.Marys Police Department, Kansas Highway Patrol, Rossville Police Department and Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office.  These agencies on several occasions used stop sticks to deflate the tires on the fleeing pickup.  When the pickup came into Silver Lake, the vehicle went West on railroad street, then drove off of the end of the road at the T intersection, Rice Rd and Railroad Street.  When the vehicle left the road, the occupants fled on foot but were quickly taken into custody.
