An injury accident was reported in Geary County over the New Year’s Eve holiday, about 11 miles east of Junction City on I-70. Barry Skidmore, 53, of Lawson, Missouri, was taken to Geary Community Hospital following the Wednesday night accident.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Skidmore was eastbound in a 2002 Ford Explorer when the vehicle drifted to the left on the north shoulder. Skidmore overcorrected and the vehicle overturned. The Explorer came to rest on its top in the south ditch facing north.
The accident was reported at 7:46 p.m. Wednesday. Skidmore had a seatbelt on. He was not listed as a patient at Geary Community Hospital Friday.
