    RCPDReportOfficers with the Riley County Police Department arrested Derrick Bishop, 46, of Manhattan while in the 2500 block of Farm Bureau Road on March 25, 2016 at approximately 5:40 PM. Bishop was arrested on a warrant for the offenses of rape, indecent liberties with a child (X2), and aggravated sexual battery. He was given a bond of $100,000.00 and at the time of this report was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail. This warrant stems from crimes occurring from as early as November 2014.


     

    Christian Garroutte, 28, of Ponca City, Oklahoma was arrested on March 25, 2016 at approximately 12:50 PM while at the Riley Police Department. He was arrested on a warrant for the offense of failure to appear with an original offense of obstructing official duty and was given a bond of $25,000.00. At the time of this report he was confined at the Riley County Jail.


     

    Christopher Harris, 28, of Manhattan was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on March 25, 2016 at approximately 5:45 PM. Harris was arrested on a warrant for the offense of failure to appear with an original offense of domestic battery. He was given a bond of $5,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail.


     

    Police in Riley County filed an information report regarding an accidental discharge of a firearm at 29 Waterway Place in Manhattan on March 25, 2016 at approximately 6:20 PM. Police found that a pet dog was accidentally shot while the owner was cleaning a firearm. Officers found no evidence to support criminal intent and noted that the dog appeared to be able to recover from its injuries. No citations were issued and no criminal report was filed.


     

    On March 26, 2016 at approximately 11:20 AM officers with the Riley County Police Department arrested Logan Hardie, 18, of Riley, Kansas on a warrant for the violation of probation or placement. He was given “no bond” and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail.


     

    Dave Unis, 34, of Manhattan was arrested on March 27, 2016 at approximately 2:20 AM while in the 200 block of S. 11th Street. Unis was arrested on the offenses of aggravated assault with use of deadly weapon and unlawful discharge of a firearm in city limits. He was given a bond of $8,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. Police made this arrest after receiving reports of shots being fired in the area of 11th Street and Pierre. Officers found that several rounds had been fired and some where in the direction of two adult victims who had been walking in the area (Zachary Crevier, 24, of Fort Riley, Kansas and David Spratt, 25, of Manhattan). No injuries were sustained and the victims were not known to Unis.


     

    The Riley County Police Department is investigating a report of robbery which took place in the 900 block of Kearney Street in Manhattan. Police found that several victims were involved in a physical altercation with several suspects (both known to each other) on March 27, 2016 at approximately 3:00 AM. At the time of this repot it was unclear what if anything had been taken. Police continue to investigate the matter and as this investigation is ongoing no further details were readily available to release.


     

    RCPD filed a report for and is currently investigating an aggravated assault which took place on March 27, 2016 at approximately 3:50 PM in the 100 block of E. Poyntz Ave. Police were told that while driving on E. Poyntz Ave. Isabel Munoz, 21, of Wamego, Kansas was passed by an unknown male driving a gold SUV. While passing Munoz this unknown male brandished a handgun. At the time of this report no citations had been issued and no arrests had been made. Officers continue to investigate the matter.
