    RCPDReportThe Riley County Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance in the city limits of Manhattan, Kansas and an arrest was made. This arrest took place at 7:30 AM on April 8, 2016 in the 6000 block of Tuttle Terrace and was for the offenses of domestic battery, criminal threat, and criminal restraint. The victims, whose identity has been withheld due to the domestic nature of this crime, were an 18 and 19-year-old female. Police arrested Juan Lopez-Perez, 24, of Manhattan for the aforementioned offenses. He was given a bond of $30,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. Officers investigating these crimes found that at least one victim receive minor injury as a result of battery.


     

    Kevin Mason, 30, of Manhattan was arrested on April 8, 2016 at approximately 4:45 AM while in the 500 block of Tuttle Street. Police arrested Mason on the offenses of vehicle burglary and interference with law enforcement which gave him a bond of $15,000.00. Officers took Mason into custody following a short foot pursuit. He was later found to be in possession of items reported stolen be several victims. At the time of this report he no longer confined at the Riley County Jail.


     

    RCPD is investigating a report of aggravated indecent liberties with a child after receiving a report of inappropriate behavior involving a 6-year-old female victim and a juvenile male suspect of unknown age at the time of this report. Police were told that this male suspect kissed the victim as well as inappropriately touched her over her clothing while in the city limits of Manhattan. This activity has taken place over the past month and was reported to police on April 8, 2016 at approximately 3:00 PM. This investigation is ongoing and no further information was released at the time of this report.


     

    Evan Megaw, 37, of Ogden, Kansas was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on April 8, 2016 at approximately 4:45 PM. Megaw was arrested on a warrant for probation violation with an original offense of conspiracy to commit theft. He was given a bond of $5,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail.


     

    Officers with the Riley County Police Department are investigating a report of aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated sexual battery after speaking with a 21-year-old female who is listed as the victim on April 10, 2016 at approximately 11:35 AM (this incident occurred the night prior). Police were told that while in a state of inebriation the victim engaged in unwanted nonconsensual sexually contact with a 20-year-old male listed as the suspect. Both the victim and suspect are known to each other and as this investigation is ongoing no further information has been released.


     

    Arrested on April 10, 2016 at approximately 4:45 PM for the offense of probation violation listed on a warrant originating in Saline County, Kansas was Erik Patrick, 27, of Manhattan. Patrick was arrested while in the 1400 block of Laramie Street and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. He was given “no bond.”


     

    RCPD filed a report for and is investigating a report of aggravated criminal sodomy which occurred in the city limits of Manhattan and involved a 27-year-old male victim and a 27-year-old male who was listed as a suspect. Police were told that during a state of intoxication consent was not able to be given for a sexual encounter which occurred on April 9, 2016. The report was filed on April 10, 2016 at approximately 1:50 PM and at the time of this report the investigation was ongoing and no arrests had been made in the case. Due to the nature of this investigation no further information was released.
