A public nature trail weaves through the native tallgrass at the Konza Prairie Biological Station.

Hiking trails at the Konza prairie are a fun place to get away from the hustle and bustle of your daily routine.

Director of Education, Jill Haukos said the prairie’s public trails may soon close if people don’t start following rules.

Haukos further told KMAN that visitors to the Konza prairie biological preserve are encouraged to hike the trails, but since it’s a biological station with lots of research going on outside the trails, people can negatively affect results.

Information about the Konza prairie and rules about the trails can be found on the nature preserve’s website.
