    383 finalizes textbook rental fees

    0
By KMAN Staff on May 3, 2017 Local News, Manhattan, Riley County
    Manhattan High School West Campus.
Parents of students enrolled in USD 383 will continue to pay textbook rental fees next school year. Manhattan-Ogden board members approved the 2017-2018 textbook rental fee proposal. In addition to rental fees for textbooks, director of finance Lew Faust said a $4 fee will be incurred to all online transactions between the district and parents.
Board members approved a bid to purchase 179 desktop computers in the amount of $106,147 from an Illinois-based company. Director of technology Mike Ribble said the current systems are eight-years-old and in need of replacement because of their inability to run Windows 10. Between new laptops which were approved for purchase last month, the district will have 600 new computers to use next year.
Final approval was also given for the purchase of desktop systems for Computer Aided Drafting from
Riverside Technologies, Inc. of Sioux City, South Dakota, in the amount of $30,500. The school start and end times for next year were also approved, and remain unchanged from this year.
