The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has opened an investigation into possible employee misconduct at the Cloud County Sheriff’s Office.

According to KBI spokeswoman Melissa Underwood, a number of search warrants were executed Tuesday at the Cloud County Law Enforcement Center in Concordia as part of an ongoing investigation which began earlier this year. The Concordia Blade-Empire newspaper posted a photo online showing a “jail closed” sign on the jail’s front entrance Tuesday. Cloud County Attorney Robert Walsh told local media in Concordia it is not a safety issue with the prisoners.

The warrants are in relation to employees of the Sheriff’s Office, but Sheriff Brian Marks is reportedly not the subject of the investigation.
