    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. –

    Officers responded to the report of a medical call in the 5000 block of Lakewood Dr. in Manhattan on October 22, 2021, around 8:54 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a deceased 87-year-old female. No foul play is suspected at this time.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 700 block of Denison Ave. in Manhattan on October 22, 2021, around 9:29 p.m. Officers listed a 21-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his backpack with a Microsoft Surface laptop inside.     Officers filed a report for unlawful discharge of a firearm in city limits and possession of a firearm with under the influence in the 1200 block of Laramie St. in Manhattan on October 23, 2021, around 2:04 a.m. Officers listed a 21-year-old male as the suspect when it was reported he shot a gun multiple times. There were no injuries reported. Michael Wyley, 21 of Manhattan was arrested in connection for unlawful discharge of a firearm in city limits and possession of a firearm while under the influence. He was issued a total bond of $2,000 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.

    Officers filed a report for theft by deception in the 300 block of N. Seth Child Rd. in Manhattan on October 23, 2021, around 2:16 p.m. Officers listed Waters True Value as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect made a fraudulent purchase by check for a Stihl concrete saw.     Officers filed a report for criminal use of a financial card and theft in the 100 block of Sarber Ln. in Manhattan on October 23, 2021, around 3:06 p.m. Officers listed Walmart, Intrust Bank and a 71-year-old female as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect made unauthorized purchases on their credit card.     Officers filed a report for theft in the 1800 block of Fair Ln. in Manhattan on October 23, 2021, around 5:16 p.m. Officers listed a 22-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect cut off and stole the catalytic converter off his truck.     Officers filed a report for theft in the 400 block of Brookhaven Dr. in Manhattan on October 24, 2021, around 9:14 a.m. Officers listed a 38-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole headphones, an Apple iPhone 12, cash and a Nike bag from her car.     Officers filed a report for theft in the 1800 block of Anderson Ave. in Manhattan on October 24, 2021, around 11:16 a.m. Officers listed a 20-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his silver 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee.     Officers filed a report for burglary in the 500 block of Denison Ave. in Manhattan on October 24, 2021, around 2:22 p.m. Officers listed Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered the fraternity house and stole two framed composite photos.     Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of N. Seth Child Rd. and Gary Ave. in Manhattan on October 24, 2021, around 8:17 p.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2015 Ford Focus driven by Donmel Davon Glover, 30, of Manhattan and a 2021 Kawasaki 640 Ninja motorcycle driven by Seth Trimble, 22, of Ft. Riley had collided. Trimble was transported to Via Christi for treatment of a broken leg. Glover was arrested after leaving the scene for aggravated battery, operating a car with a required ignition interlock device, driving under the influence and duty of driver to give information. Glover is currently confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $10,000.

    Officers filed a report for burglary in the 800 block of Willard Pl. in Manhattan on October 24, 2021, around 8:45 p.m. Officers listed a 26-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered his home and stole three televisions. The total estimated loss associated with this case is approximately $1,400. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for criminal deprivation of property in the 2500 block of Candle Crest Cir. in Manhattan on October 25, 2021, around 4:10 a.m. Officers listed a 40-year-old female as the victim when it was reported a 16-year-old male suspect had taken her 2020 Kia Forte. The total estimated loss associated with this case is approximately $16,000.
