WICHITA — Stray bullets fired off an individuals’ property in unincorporated areas of Sedgwick County could now lead to a $500 penalty.
KSNW-TV reports that the Sedgwick County Commission voted 4-1 Wednesday for a measure regulating the discharge of firearms. Shooters can still fire guns on their own property, but bullets that stray onto the the property of others can prompt the penalty.
The resolution was in response to complaints from residents who said their properties outside of the Wichita city limits were damaged by people firing guns.
