After picking up a road win at Hays last Friday night, 6A #1 Manhattan returns home to Bishop Stadium Friday to begin Centennial League play. The Indians host the #5 team in the class, Washburn Rural, looking to pick up a measure of revenge after the Junior Blues upset the Tribe at home last year, setting up a three-way tie for the league title. Rural is also 3-0 with wins over Piper, De Soto and Wichita East. Coverage of Friday’s game begins at 6:30pm on Newsradio KMAN.

Rock Creek hosts Silver Lake in a meeting of the sixth-ranked teams in their respective classes. The Eagles and Mustangs are both 2-1 overall, 2-0 in Mid-East League games. Rock Creek has won its last two games after starting with a loss to SE of Saline, while Silver Lake is in its first season under former player Logan Pegram. Pegram is replacing legendary coach C.J. Hamilton this season and saw his team open with a win over Riley County before being blown out by Hayden and rebounding with a win over St. Marys last Friday. The matchup is our B104.7 Carpet One of Manhattan Game of the Week, with pre-game starting at 6:30pm.

Also tonight: Wamego caps a three game run of road games, visiting KC Washington, Riley County travels to Royal Valley, Junction City travels to Bishop Carroll, Frankfort hosts Doniphan West and Blue Valley is at home to take on Hanover. The Rams picked off a victory last Friday to end a five-game slide that dated back to last season.
