    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law and in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 200 block of N. Arizona St. in Leonardville on November 17, 2022, around 6:15 a.m. A 29-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported a 42-year-old man used his vehicle to push her vehicle approximately 30 feet off the road, then smashed the windshield. Jason Konkright, 42, of Leonardville was arrested in connection for criminal damage to property. He was issued a total bond of $4,000 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.

    Officers filed a report for fraud on November 17, 2022, around 12:00 p.m. A 25-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported a known woman used his credit card without permission. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $6,000.

    Officers filed a report for criminal trespass and criminal damage to property in the 1200 block of Moro St. in Aggieville, Manhattan on November 18, 2022, around 12:45 a.m. Acme Global Industries Inc. and a 40-year-old man were listed as the victims when it was reported a 21-year-old man trespassed into Acme Gift, then broke the business’s back glass door. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $900. Jack Johnson, 21, of Manhattan was issued a notice to appear in Manhattan Municipal Court for criminal trespass and criminal damage to property.

    *Update – Estevan Rochin, 16, of Ogden who was arrested on November 17, 2022, for burglary, interference with LEO, and criminal damage to property after breaking into the Ogden Casey’s (see the November 17 Police Activity Report) has also been charged with an additional count each of criminal damage to property and burglary in connection to a November 5, 2022 break-in at the Ogden Casey’s around 2:30 a.m. where a window was broken out (around $1,200 loss) and around $1,800 worth of tobacco products were stolen. He is charged with an additional count each of criminal damage to property and burglary in connection to an October 27, 2022 break-in at the Ogden Casey’s around 12:45 a.m. where a window was broken out (around $1,200) and around $1,500 worth of tobacco products were stolen. He is also charged with an additional count each of criminal damage to property and attempted burglary in connection to an October 26, 2022 attempted break-in at the Ogden Valero around 12:15 a.m. where window and door were damaged in an attempt to enter the business, this resulted in an approximate total loss of $1,750. After further investigation into the November 17, 2022 break-in at the Ogden Casey’s, it was found around $1,800 of tobacco products were stolen. Rochin was processed by juvenile intake and released to a guardian following his November 17, 2022 arrest.
