    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law and in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 3200 block of Kimball Ave. in Manhattan on November 4, 2022, around 4:30 p.m. McCullough Development was listed as the victim when it was reported a silver two-axel, enclosed trailer was stolen. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $5,000. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated battery in the 12000 block of Blue River Hills Rd. on November 4, 2022, around 8:00 p.m. A 43-year-old male was listed as the victim when it was reported a 54-year-old male suspect used his 2020 Dodge Ram to hit the victim’s 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser that was parked on the side of the road following an argument between the two. Officers then filed a report for arson on November 5, 2022, shortly before 1:00 a.m. in the 3800 block of W. 69th Ave. after responding to a report of the Dodge Ram that hit the victim’s car was on fire. Riley County Fire District #1 responded as well to extinguish the fire. These cases remain under investigation.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Cavalry and Welsh Roads near Riley on November 5, 2022, around 9:45 p.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Ethan Bryant, 16, drove through the t-intersection on Calvary as it met Welsh and went into the ditch. Bryant was transported to Via Christi for treatment of neck and back pain, and was later released.

    Officers filed a report for burglary and criminal damage to property in the 700 block of S. Elm St. in Ogden on November 6, 2022, around 3:30 a.m. A 70-year-old female was listed as the victim when it was reported her house was broken into and makeup, jewelry, $300 cash, cigarettes, a 58″ Hisense television, 3 brown leather purses, a Bluerobot watch, an antique camera, and other miscellaneous goods were stolen. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $5,200. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property, burglary, and violation of a protection order in the 1300 block of Flint Hills Pl. in Manhattan on November 6, 2022, around 6:00 p.m. A 40-year-old female was listed as the victim when it was reported a 30-year-old male suspect broke into her home and stole miscellaneous electronics and jewelry. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,500.
