USD 383 has named Abby Bowen its next Director of Human Resources.

She’ll replace Interim Director Dr. Cleion Morton in June. Dr. Morton, a former principal at Northview Elementary, stepped into the interim role following the resignation of Drew Montgomery as HR Director in January.

Bowen currently serves as assistant principal and school psychologist at Amanda Arnold Elementary. Her prior experience includes time as school psychologist for USD 383, Barton County Special Services Cooperative and Gardner-Edgerton Schools.

“As the Director of Human Resources, I look forward to helping the staff in the Manhattan-Ogden School District in a different way,” she said in a news release. “I am very pleased to collaborate with administration and staff to continue supporting a strong, reliable, and consistent work culture now and for years to come.”

USD 383 Assistant Superintendent Eric Reid stated he’s excited to bring Bowen to the district office team.

“She has great energy and talent and will be a benefit to all our employees for years to
come,” he said.

Bowen has a B.S. in Psychology from Emporia State University, an ED.S. in School Psychology from the University of Kansas and a M.S. in Education Leadership from Kansas State University.
