By AJ Shaw on July 15, 2023 Local News, Manhattan, Riley County

The American Red Cross, Riley County EMS, Manhattan Fire Department and Riley County Police Department will be hosting the 20th annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive this week.

The event starts at 11:30 today and goes through 6:00pm at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church at the 2900 block of Kimball Avenue in Manhattan. Day 2 of the event will be on Tuesday from 7:30am to 1:00pm. The event is hoping to receive about 200 donors.

First responders will compete to get the most votes from blood donors. The top agency will receive bragging rights and a trophy.

The donors who wish to participate will receive a commemorative “Battle of the Badges” T-shirt and will be automatically entered into a three-night New York getaway for two that includes a private shark dive adventure at the Long Island Aquarium.

Further details on the shark dive can be found at www.RedCrossBlood.org/shark
