    Ackert Hall

A fire broke out earlier this morning at Ackert Hall early on Monday on the campus of Kansas State University.

Manhattan Fire Department crews responded to the structure fire and were able to extinguish it within ten minutes. Claflin Road was shut down for nearly an hour but ultimately reopened with no issues.

The fire was believed to have been started by a light fixture. Crews reported no injuries or fatalities but the building did experience quite a bit of smoke.

Details continue to emerge with this story and more information will be released later today.
