    By Cale Prater

The Rock Creek Board of Education Monday night discussed a question that will be placed on the November ballot regarding the creation of a recreation department that would serve the Rock Creek area.

The ballot question will read as follows:

    Shall the following be adopted?

USD 323 Rock Creek School District, shall create a Recreation System and to levy an annual tax not to exceed one mill for such recreation system and to pay a portion of the principal and interest on the bonds issued pursuant to Kansas Statutes.

If the option is adopted, it would give USD 323 the ability to establish a Recreation System to enhance community activities in Westmoreland, St. George, and other parts of the district. As part of this effort, the district intends to levy an annual tax, not to exceed one mill, in order to support this recreation system.
