Members of the Kansas Board of Regents on Wednesday took their first look at a proposed rate increase of 2.24% for a modest double-occupancy room with limited dining options at K-State in the 2025-26 school year. The jump for a newly renovated or constructed room with unlimited dining options would be 3.52%.

The list of possible increases on the Manhattan campus varied widely depending on the type of room or suite, the building it’s in and the number of people living in it. The lowest hike would be 1.9% for a traditional double-occupancy room at Boyd, Ford, Goodnow, Haymaker, Marlatt, Moore or Putnam halls or a traditional quad at Ford Hall. The greatest jump would be 8.5% for the two-person side of a two-person-by-one-person suite in Van Zile Hall.
