K-State used a big second-half performance to pull away from Mississippi Valley State, 74-56, in the final game of a 4-game homestand.

Junior Ugonna Onyenso led three Wildcats in double figures with a career-high 16 points on 6-of-7 field goals and 4-of-4 free throws, while junior C.J. Jones and senior David N’Guessan added 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Senior Coleman Hawkins tied a career-high with 13 rebounds to go with 4 assists and 3 steals.

Tough night shooting from the field for KSU. Just 36% (23-64) from the field and only 3-23 from three. K-State connected on 25-of-27 free throws (92.6%), which is the highest since hitting on 93.9 percent (31-of-33) at No. 6/6 Texas on Jan. 3, 2023.

K-State is now 184-57 in non-conference play since 2006-07, including 145-17 at home and 129-14 at Bramlage Coliseum.
