Two were transported to a local hospital following an accident near a roundabout on Tuesday evening in Manhattan.

RCPD reports that 27-year-old Subdint Cruz of Manhattan and a minor child were transported to Via Christi by EMS and then later to separate hospitals after they were both struck by a Honda Civic driven by 48-year-old Aaron Crews of Junction City as they tried to cross the street. Their statuses are unknown at this time.

Last month News Radio KMAN released a story, based on RCPD traffic data, where it was revealed that the roundabout at Bluemont Ave and Fourth St has been the most dangerous intersection in Manhattan during recent months. Eight accidents occurred at that roundabout in third quarter this year, spanning Jul. 1 through Sept. 30.

The area where the accident occurred is just feet away from the Bluemont roundabout, which is also the most dangerous for pedestrians.
