USD 383’s superintendent says communication issues between the district’s special education department and families receiving services that surfaced recently are “not acceptable.”
Eric Reid apologized at Wednesday’s Manhattan-Ogden school board meeting after four parents with kids in special ed on Dec. 4 voiced their concerns about poor accountability and communication, particularly as it related to changes or cuts to their students’ services.
“I feel horrible about this, and I apologize to those families as well,” Reid said. “The timelines were not good. They were not acceptable, and they were not acceptable for anything going forward.”
