Riley County Police are investigating two separate theft reports filed Monday in Manhattan involving combined losses of more than $8,000.
The first report was filed at about 9:36 a.m. in the 700 block of Allen Road. A 40-year-old man reported an unknown suspect scammed him, resulting in an estimated loss of about $2,300.
A second report was filed shortly after noon in the 3000 block of Dickens Avenue. A 79-year-old man reported an unknown suspect made charges to his bank account. Police listed the case as theft and forgery, with an estimated loss of about $5,901.
