Alex Smith and rookie Kareem Hunt led an offense that shredded the Patriots in a 42-27 win at New England. A pickup involved in an incident near the Rocky Ford fishing area has been recovered. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s office is investigating an early Tuesday morning case of an injured Georgia man. Around 3:45 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a report of an injured male near the Rocky Ford Fishing area. Deputies along with Riley County Police Officers responded to the area and located the injured male, identified as Josh Bearden, 27, of Georgia. WICHITA — A report shows Kansas farmers harvested a winter wheat crop this year that had lower than usual protein levels. The report issued Thursday by the National Agricultural Statistics Service and Kansas Grain Inspection Service showed protein content averaged 11.6 percent. That is down from 11.7 percent last year as well as the 10-year average of 12.5 percent. Wheat crops with protein levels of 12 percent or more fetch premium prices for farmers because that higher quality wheat is used to make bread. February 12th is still the trial date set for an Ogden man previously convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend and their son eight years ago. A motions hearing was held Wednesday in Riley County District Court for Luis Aguirre, 30, who was discharged in March of 2016 from the Kansas Department of Corrections. The Kansas Supreme Court overturned Aguirre’s 2012 conviction due to Miranda rights being violated during a police interrogation. The Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 Board of Education took action for the recommendations made by the Mascot Committee.  The Board did not take actions for changing the name or image of the Manhattan Indians, but only the recommendations made by the committee.
