A Manhattan man faces a large bond following his arrest Wednesday night.  Christopher Williams, 43, was arrested by Riley County Police on a warrant for the offense of failure to appear at approximately 8:35 PM while in the 500 block of Moro Street. The warrant had an original offense of battery of a law enforcement officer. The film offices in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska along with Kansas City, Missouri, are collaborating to entice the film industry to the area. IMAX and Carmike Cinemas have announced plans to expand their revenue sharing agreement to three new cities, including Manhattan. After two years leading the “demon brigade,” Col. Matthew R. Lewis relinquished command of the 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division. In a change of command ceremony at Fort Riley’s Calvary Parade Field, Lewis thanked his family and wife Anne, for being by his side and reflected on the brigade’s accomplishments. Taking his place is Col. John M. Cyrulik, former director of evaluation and standardization at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Lewis is slated to become the deputy commander of the Combat Readiness Center at Fort Rucker.
