A St. George man, who was arrested in February following a search warrant by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, appeared in Pottawatomie County Court Tuesday morning and waived his preliminary hearing. Jerry Daniels appeared in court at 11 a.m.  He chose to waive his right to the prelim for the case, and his arraignment date was set for July 16th at 11 a.m. Daniels was arrested, along with Paula Daniels, after three stolen vehicles were recovered from their property, along with guns, an enclosed trailer, and vehicles parts.  He was charged with a $75,000 bond at that time.

The Riley County Police Department is proud to announce the recipient of the 2015 annual RCPD Scholarship Award. Alexis McCormick, the daughter of Lt. Mark French, was awarded this $500.00 scholarship in May of this year after a selection process conducted throughout the spring. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) A 31-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder after an argument at a party ended with the death of the hostess. The Wichita Eagle reports Lydia Treto, also 31, was killed after being hit by a vehicle Sunday evening in the backyard of her Wichita home. Lt. Todd Ojile says witnesses told investigators Treto was hosting a party when she and the suspect got into a violent argument.
