Ashia Woods scored 18 points and a three-point basket that went in didn’t count for Oklahoma State as Kansas State defeated the Cowgirls 52-51 in a thrilling overtime contest Wednesday night in Women’s Basketball action at Bramlage Coliseum. Woods tied the game with 32 seconds left in regulation by making the first of two free throws before missing the second one. FORT RILEY, Kansas – Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, have begun the process of redeploying back to Fort Riley following a successful eight-month deployment to Djibouti in the Horn of Africa to support Operation Enduring Freedom. The first Soldiers arrived Jan. 27 at Fort Riley and the remaining members of the “Rangers” battalion will return in the next few weeks. Riley County Police have made a huge arrest in a rape case here in Manhattan on Monday. Clayton Garibaldi (18) was arrested in the 400 block of Laramie Street for five felony level charges:  unlawful voluntary sexual relations, rape, aggravated assault, aggravated indecent liberties with a child, and aggravated indecent solicitation of a child. Garibaldi’s bond was set at $85,000.

The Manhattan City Commission discussed the direction for current and future improvements to City Hall and Peace Memorial Auditorium. As part of its vote to expand City Hall, the Commission will work with the community to fund a war memorial in the foyer of the auditorium and renovations to its stage. Friends of Peace Memorial Auditorium expressed its desire Tuesday, to assist the City in all fund raising efforts and community outreach. City staff will coordinate with Bruce McMillan Architects, and Friends of Peace Memorial Auditorium to develop design ideas for the foyer and stage.
