On Tuesday night the Manhattan City commission added a new addition to the official Manhattan historical registry. Commissioners voted to accept the Jesse Ingraham house onto the register. Experts say keys to eligibility is in the registry are historic significance, historic integrity, and historical context. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) The Kansas Legislature approved compromise regulations Tuesday that ride-hailing company Uber said will allow it to stay in the state. Large majorities in both chambers voted for the bill, sending it to the governor on a day in which he signed a bill defining fantasy sports as legal and the House shelved a bill seeking to revive a Kansas City, Kansas, dog and horse racing park. A resurfacing project will begin tomorrow on a 5.61-mile portion of U.S. 24 from the K-177 junction north to the K-13 junction in Manhattan. The man charged in connection with the shooting incident in Aggieville earlier this month appeared in Riley County District Court via web cam on Tuesday afternoon. Mark Self Jr. appeared along side his attorney, Larry McRell. McRell filed a motion to withdraw from the case due to a conflict of interest. A relative of Self was present in Judge William Malcolm’s courtroom and stated he intended to hire outside counsel; Mark Bennett of Topeka. A St. George man, who was arrested in February following a search warrant by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, appeared in Pottawatomie County Court Tuesday morning and waived his preliminary hearing. Jerry Daniels appeared in court at 11 a.m. He chose to waive his right to the prelim for the case, and his arraignment date was set for July 16th at 11 a.m. Daniels was arrested, along with Paula Daniels, after three stolen vehicles were recovered from their property, along with guns, an enclosed trailer, and vehicles parts. He was charged with a $75,000 bond at that time.
