KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) The game between the New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals scheduled for Monday night has been postponed because of rain. The game is scheduled to be made up on August 25th, which was previously an off day for both teams. The Royals will now open a two-game series against the Cleveland Indians. First pitch will be at 7:10pm on Tuesday night, and pregame begins at 6:30 on NewsRadio 1350 KMAN from the Royals Radio Network. Right hander Jason Vargas gets the start for KC against the Indians’ Corey Kluber.

Wamego High School was named in the Top 10 best high schools in Kansas for college prep. At Monday’s USD 320 Board of Education meeting, Director of Instructional Services Dr. Mary Kaye Siebert, said Wamego was rated #8 of the 10, and this recognition is a celebration for the entire District. Wamego officials visited with Pottawatomie County Commissioners in Westmoreland Monday, regarding plans for large type traffic thoroughfares, with work in the area of Balderson Boulevard and Valley Street–and Military Trail Road near the Industrial Park.
