A Belleville man died in an early Sunday morning crash in Geary County. Ronald E. Stump, Jr., 35, died in the one car accident in the 7,000 block of Laurel Canyon Road, 5.1 miles north of K-244. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Stump was driving a 2015 Chevy Malibu south bound on Laurel Canyon Road, when the road came to a dead end and for an unknown reason Stump drove off the end of the roadway. The Wildcats (4-4) scored in five of the first six innings, with the highest-scoring frame coming in the sixth when K-State plated five runs to blow open a 12-2 lead. Starting on Saturday, and running throughout the weekend, the Manhattan Area Garden Show presented classes from local organizations and businesses to help folks with their green thumb. Some of the highlights included a “Whodunit” event hosted by the Riley County Extension office.  The exhibit presented prizes to those who could figure out the varmint signs in the ground, and ruined plants.  Master Gardner President Penny Sturr kept a watchful eye over the event, and gave this reporter a failing grade as I only identified 50% of the vermin. Peyton Little scored 30 points on the strength of eight three-pointers and Oklahoma dominated the glass as the Sooners defeated Kansas State 73-64 Saturday night in the Play 4 Kay game at Bramlage Coliseum. K-State used a 7-0 run in the first five minutes of the game to jump out to an early 9-4 lead before OU came roaring back with one of its own to lead 11-9.
