A pair of Americans completed what had long been considered the world’s most difficult rock climb Wednesday, using only their hands and feet to scale a 3,000-foot vertical wall on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park.
The Flint Hills Area Transportation Agency and it’s Board of Directors held a ribbon cutting Wednesday for the Wamego Regional Shuttle service. The new service will provide public transportation between the cities of Wamego and Manhattan, described as the next step in regional transportation. The service is open to the public and includes a partnership with Wamego’s Highland Community College. The ribbon cutting was held at the Highland Community College Campus, located at 500 Miller Drive in Wamego.

She will join Bagus, an eleven-year-old male otter, already on exhibit. The addition is currently completing a 30-day-quarantine process, a requirement of all new animals, before Animal Keeper staff begin introductions. “Otters are very social animals, making them quite popular among Zoo guests. A brother/sister couple originally from Salina have been passed over for parole in a prominent Geary County murder case from the late 1990’s. Dana Flynn,53, is not eligible for release until January of 2019. Flynn is now incarcerated in Topeka. Her brother, Mikel Dreiling’s (42) next possible release date is December of 2016. Dreiling is currently being held in Hutchinson. The two were sentenced in early 1997 in the death of Randall Sheridan in 1992. Five shotgun blasts were reportedly involved. Dreiling’s public comment sessions were held in October, with Flynn’s in November.
