Updated Noon Monday: Further details were released late Monday morning regarding a two vehicle fatal accident in Pottawatomie County Sunday afternoon.   Sheriff Greg Riat has announced Don Collette, 69, of Clay Center died as a result of the accident, reported just after two p.m. on highway 16, east of Lincoln Road in rural Onaga.   The accident occurred when a  2000 Ford Windstar being driven by Collette was Westbound on K-16 and crossed into the East bound lane of K-16. It then struck an Eastbound vehicle also on K-16, a 2011 Chevrolet pickup being driven by Timothy Taylor, 65, of Trimble, Missouri.…

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) House and Senate negotiators have reached an agreement on a Kansas school funding measure, setting the stage for an evening vote to satisfy a court order. The deal reached Saturday would increase state spending in an effort to address unconstitutional funding levels flagged by the Kansas Supreme Court in its March 7th ruling. Several dozen teachers converged on the Statehouse on Saturday to lobby legislators on the tenure issue.
