The Junction City Police Department is requesting help from the public in the investigation of a vehicle theft. A press release was sent out regarding this matter Tuesday afternoon. On Sunday, December 21st, just before 7 p.m., officers took a vehicle theft report involving the theft of a 2013 Freightliner-a Columbia model with purple stripes running down each side and a large Power Cat emblem on each side. The vehicle was taken sometime between Friday, December 19th-Sunday, December 21st. The Freightliner was recovered on Monday, December 22nd, and was found parked on the ramp at exit 350 on I-70. Riley County Police simultaneously executed several drug related search warrants in the 200 block of 10th Street in Ogden Tuesday. These search warrants resulted in the arrest of five adults. Police arrested Anita Albano (48) of Ogden for the offenses of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. Her bond was set at $10,000. Arthur Kingston III (40) of Ogden was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, and his bond was set at $5,000. A January ninth preliminary hearing has been set for a 36-year-old Marysville man charged in connection with running a vehicle into two Manhattan businesses the end of last week. Jason Butler appeared in Pottawatomie County Court for the first time Tuesday afternoon. He faces eight charges including felony DUI, leaving the scene of an injury accident, abuse of toxic vapors, and driving while suspended. Butler reportedly had minor injuries as a result of the accident. Construction work will begin on Monday on North Manhattan Avenue. This will allow for better traffic flow from Kimball Avenue to Research Park Drive. The first phase of the project will maintain two-way traffic on North Manhattan Avenue, but temporary access will be provided for those using Research Park Drive to access the Kansas Department of Agriculture, Manhattan/KSU Innovation Center and Mary and Carl Ice Hall.
