Prelim Set in Aggravated Robbery Case

0
By KMAN Staff on November 25, 2014 Riley County
GavelThe fourth case involving the aggravated robbery and kidnapping incident in the 1300 block of Flint Hills Place last month, was addressed in Riley County Court Tuesday afternoon.
Kenneth Mallet (22) was arrested earlier this month in Illinois for aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping charges stemming from two separate cases.
Mallet appeared for his status hearing Tuesday via web cam.  His case was set for a preliminary hearing on January 9th at 2 p.m.  The three other men charged in this incident will have preliminary hearings on December 19th.
Mallet asked Judge William Malcolm if he could make a statement, as he wanted to request a bond reduction.
Prosecuting State Attorney, Barry Wilkerson asked that Judge Malcolm deny Mallet’s request due to the severity of the charges.
Malcolm did deny the request, and Mallet’s bond will remain at $250,000.
